The process doesnt need to be reversed. There isnt an obligation for US to be dominant in something instead of some other country. No point in being sore losers, when it is time to learn from one's mistakes.

SV culture's core strength does not rely on technical prowess of given individual technologies. It relies on the cultural traits of 'changing the world', 'users first', 'open X' and similar philosophies and egalitarian revenue and power distribution formats in organizations. Those strengths wont go away.
