The economic warfare which US conducts across entire world, amounts to a blockade. If an actual blockade was done using ships, that would cause a violation of international law, and would cause legal repercussions. Hence, the decrepit, despicable way which US effects an actual blockade through peripheral means.

Back in World war 2, FDR shoved every single Japanese American into concentration camps, whereas without anyone threatening it, US kidnaps other countries’ citizens in CIA rendition flights and jails them in maximum security prisons without disclosing their location even today. It has secret national security courts where judges decide without any public scrutiny. Even as militarized police beats the living daylights of minorities who just demand that they dont get killed like animals in broad daylight.
