That's because you are only looking at those who destroy their own societies for profit - like UK or US. And not the rest of the world. The rest of the world is doing better. Look at China - they got out of the pandemic early, they even had recorded actual growth last year. Gigantic pool parties. People back to traveling en masse back to their hometowns for Chinese holiday. They didn't even let the old die like how the West did, saying 'The pandemic affects mostly the old so its ok for the economy'.

Even Saudi Arabia is trying to improve themselves - the new Prince has plans for pivoting away from oil, for education, for industry and infrastructure. Every country is trying to do something to make things better.

Its only US, UK and a few countries which follow those who loaded their entire existence on stock market and financial economy, throwing everything else, including people, into the trashcan.
