Such a collapse as in people who have food or water becoming targets is contrary to the interests of every single entity and organization in the planet, bar the delirious evangelists who want to bring on 'the apocalypse' to have Jesus of Nazareth come back. So, the chances of that is happening is zero. Therefore no need to worry about that.

The slow slugging torture of public services, healthcare, education, life standards etc declining due to increasing privatization and private profiteering of the free market is a catastrophe enough. An apocalypse or collapse would be at least swift. But that kind of torture lasts a lifetime...
