Sanders And ‘The Squad’ Took The Left For A Ride

Many gave the benefit of the doubt to the supposed emerging ‘left’ that came from inside the Democratic Party and supported them since 2016. Sanders and AOC, Omar and others in their ‘Squad’. Went to their rallies, campaigned for them and donated their hard-earned money with the hopes that they would bring about at least some change.

But after 8 years, the result has been an abject disappointment.

Sanders and the lot supported every policy of the narcissist aristocracy that dominates the Democratic & Liberal establishment, refused to push for any reform and did everything in their power to get the narcissist aristocrats to keep their stranglehold on power.

Even when the Democrats had the Houses and the presidency at the start of Biden’s term, they rejected any demand to bring reform bills by saying “Now is not the time!” (when is?!) and talking about “bipartisanship” (then why should people vote for you?).

The worst was when Sanders repressed those who were talking about Palestine/Gaza by shouting “Shut up!”. Then when the genocide started in Gaza, started regurgitating something about “Israel’s right to defend itself”. A year in, and Israel is still blowing the brains of children out — now not only in Gaza but also in Lebanon and the US is still paying for and giving the bombs for Israel’s genocide even as it protects it from any military retaliation with American forces.

The result of all of this is the first televised genocide of history, a backbreaking economic crisis, a housing crisis, a stock market that breaks records, corporate profits at an all-time high and consequently, a crushing defeat with Trump’s steamrolling victory. They still managed to funnel the donations from their supporters’ hard-earned money to their elite circle by eating ~600 million dollars by distributing that money to their own clique in the process.

Some say that Sanders and ‘the Squad’ were always sheepdogs. They might have been right.

Others say that Sanders was neutralized when the Clintonites in the Democratic Party brought a lawsuit against his wife, pressuring him to become compliant. This also may be right.

However, what’s certain is that in either case, Sanders acted as if he was a sheepdog whose task was to railroad the left movement and channel their money and votes to the Democratic elite. The squad even more so.

At this point, nobody who comes from the inside of the Democratic Party can be trusted. The party establishment has shown itself to be capable of repressing or subverting any attempt at change. The next prominent figure that comes out of the Democratic Party can also be another sheepdog. And the people can’t afford to waste time with another sheepdog. Or more than one.

The Solution Is In The Alternatives

The popular movements must go towards the Green Party, DSA and all the other left-leaning parties in the US political sphere.

It’s not even necessary for everyone must vote for the same party if a way to implement electoral blocs like how it is done in Europe can be found:

In European politics, multiple parties can reach an agreement about the next policy platform, sign an accord among themselves to implement them, and create an election bloc. They distribute the candidacies among themselves and enter the election as a bloc. The bloc is treated as a singular electoral entity in the elections, and its votes are counted as the bloc’s votes and not individual parties’ votes. When the bloc forms the government or joins the government, the previously agreed policy positions are implemented by the bloc. This allows for multiple parties with slightly varying goals to combine their power around common policy goals and it works.

This would be a great way to break the bipartisan dictatorship if it’s legally possible to implement. If not, other ways like collectively supporting Congressional and Senatorial candidates selected from within a pseudo-bloc can be employed. This would work as an entire bloc voting for individual candidates can change the political landscape — especially because the various Senate committees hold the actual power in the US.

Basically, any format that would allow multiple left-wing parties to combine their power in any way would work. They don’t need to unite into one big party as long as they can unite their forces and effect change this way.

In the end, the format with which change can be brought about does not matter — what matters is that the change must be made happen, and it will only happen if the people break away from the narcissist aristocratic stranglehold and start voting for only those who have their policies no matter what.
