There was a time in which user-generated content was considered 'spam' and 'noise' and it was relegated to the fringes of the web into forums and chat rooms. Today it is king. There was a time in which gaming was a degenerate activity and a waste of time. Now its a gigantic industry. There was a time when credit card payments were for shady sites and porn sites, because those very porn sites innovated the online payment system out of their own needs.

Every major web techology was 'useless' and 'pointless' at the start, until someone found a use case for the majority of the public. Crypto, Blockchain, Web3 - whatever you may want to call it - is no different. We know that there is something that works and it can do things. Its only a matter of time until someone breaks it out to the mainstream.
