Not at all. In a majority of cases in which wild animals are released back to the 'nature', they hesitate to go out. Some even refuse. The 'natural' way of life is a pesky one with hunger, animals out to murder you, sickness, and a lot of pests and parasites eating you from inside. When the decision is in between safety & food and the 'real' stuff above, animals hesitate.
Cats, even more - even in the nature a cat's territory is a small one. An apartment is too small, yes, but not a game breaker. If you liven it up by hanging around cat ladders, passages etc, it would be a lot more accommodating for a cat. What's most important for cats is that they need to let energy out around late at night at the time when they hunt in the nature. (Late night zoomies) If they can do that regularly and also get their reproductive desires arranged by having them mate a few times through mating services etc, they should have no reason to feel trapped.
