Its not just losing the midterms, political power, or even losing democracy - society is being reengineered into a reactionary religious/nationalist format. This happens starting from step 3 of societal collapse due to inequality. I wrote about step 2 below - Ill write about step 3 soon, and it will cover a lot about what really happens.
In ~10 years' time, liberals, moderates, even moderate conservatives will find themselves being like total strangers, foreigners in their own society. And persecutions will start. After that point, its 'You are either with us or against us', and 'with us' means adhering to every single extremist narrative and belief... So yes, sane Americans should start looking for options for moving abroad if things start going even further downhill, they shouldnt even wait for things getting out of hand.
