If there are colleagues in different time zones, you can just work asynchronously. Today there are a plethora of apps and services that allow async work - from chat apps like Slack to, well, collab apps like Jira, that existed for a long time.

Similar point as above. What has happened to the idea of being part of a team? Of working together to create something great? Mentorship? Friendships at work?

If those require you to work overtime without pay, they are just replacements for the 'We are a family' facade to facilitate wage theft. You help your colleagues during your work hours.
