I don't think you need to apologize, or delete your comment.

However I strongly stress that the same mentality that made those countries move to protect all their people instead of 'the economy' will make them take similar measures for hunger. In addition, they are not alone - there are organizations like SCO, BRICS which they are integrated to directly or as partners, which work to ensure that no country goes lacking. Various countries in those organizations have the technology, state and financial power to make literally anything happen if they need to, as demonstrated during the pandemic. Since technology for alternate farming and food production exist, these countries would have no problem in effecting them at large scales and even helping other countries with those technologies, leaving aside directly supplying them with food exports.

But 'the West' will not only not want to do that in order to keep the stock market up and profits high, but also it will be too isolated from the entire rest of the world due to its foreign policy in order to even receive exports.

So I would not fear for the people in Asia and other places, but for the people in that very 'West'. Priorities are just different in between these two literal worlds.
