From what it looks; housing wasn't a problem. Jobs weren't a problem. Education, higher education, healthcare weren't problems. Reasonable work hours, weekend vacations, paid vacations, paid maternity leave weren't problems. Reasonable retirement age and pay weren't problems. Free social, hobby clubs, cinema and theater weren't problems. It looks like a lot of things that require a white-collar couple working hard in well-paid jobs for 40 years to acquire and keep, weren't problems in communism.
