Doesnt make sense. The talent will simply go elsewhere, whomever pays them better. Local cost of living being cheaper does not change the amount and detail of work needed in such large organizations.

You could shave off 1-2 thousand dollars a month, right, say $30k/year tops, arguing that rent is much cheaper than SF etc. Yeah, that's reasonable. But people wont be putting their souls in for enterprise work for little pay just because they live in a remote location. Because the work and what's demanded of them do not change.

Its amazing how organizations are trying to use this as a means to improve their bottom line and squeeze the employees for that, instead of trying to use it as a means to attract talent.
